HELIOTROPE

This project consists of a renovation/addition to an existing partial view home to create a larger home with improved views, and was undertaken by the owner as a speculative venture. The scope consisted of removing the roof and main level of the existing structure and building two new floors plus a loft over the existing basement. Massing consists of three ‘boxes’, one defining entry, another defining main living spaces and a third defining family spaces. Horizontal planes slice into these volumes, providing overhangs for windows and doors and providing exterior deck space. Interior volumes are defined minimally in order to allow future owners the ability to personalize them according to their taste.
